Message From The Director

The School of Continuing and Professional Education (SCPE) of The Hong Kong Institute of Education was established with an institutional vision of fostering “life-long learning” to serve the teaching profession and the community at large by providing quality continuing education opportunities. The School is launching programmes in continuing education to meet the need for an educated and competitive work force in the community.

HKIEd SCPE has been providing sub-degree programmes which accommodate a wide range of individual traits, articulate to renowned tertiary education institutions and open pathways to favorable employment opportunities since 2002. The School currently offers award-bearing Associate Degree programmes in the areas of Art and Design, Music, Sports Coaching and Management, Accountancy, Tourism, Business Studies and Social Work. Given the critical role of accreditation in assuring the quality of its programmes, SCPE continues to regularly
review the curriculum that it offers, conduct dialogue with overseas universities about articulation agreements, maintain a highly qualified teaching team and upgrade campus facilities. The continued growth of the School is a strong reflection of its quality assurance commitment.

“Life-long learning” is the invaluable key to success in the 21st century. The remarkable achievement of the School in the past years has laid down a good and firm foundation for further development and expansion of our scope of provision of education opportunities and services. We will go on to work in line with the mission of the Institute to foster a culture of life-long learning in Hong Kong, and together with the Government for the betterment of the Hong Kong society.
